This Privacy Policy explains how MindGrid Labs (“we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the TelePrompter Pro desktop application (the “App”) and the website at mindgridlabs.org (the “Site”).
1. The short version
- The App runs locally on your computer and works fully offline.
- Your scripts and settings never leave your device - we cannot see them.
- We do not require an account to use the App.
- Purchases are handled by our payment processor, which collects the data needed to bill you.
2. Information the App stores on your device
The App stores the following locally on your computer (in your user profile and the Windows registry) so it can remember your preferences and license status:
- Your settings (font, colours, speed, window position).
- The last script text you used, so it can be restored.
- Trial start date and license activation status (encrypted).
This information is not transmitted to us. Uninstalling the App and removing its data folder removes it.
3. Information we receive when you buy
Purchases are processed by a third-party payment provider (for example, Gumroad or Lemon Squeezy). When you buy a license, that provider collects and processes your name, email address and payment details in order to complete the transaction and deliver your license key. We receive your name and email so we can deliver the key and provide support. We do not receive or store your full payment card details.
4. Information we receive when you contact us
If you email support, we receive the information you choose to share (such as your email address, order number and the contents of your message) so we can help you. We retain support correspondence only as long as needed to assist you and keep basic records.
5. The Site
The Site is a set of static pages. If we use privacy-respecting analytics or our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type for security and performance), that information is used only in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
6. How we use information
- To deliver license keys and provide customer support.
- To process refunds and keep transaction records as required by law.
- To improve the product and respond to feedback.
We do not sell your personal information.
7. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you (such as your support emails and purchase records) by contacting us. We will respond within a reasonable time and in line with applicable law.
8. Data retention & security
We keep purchase and support records for as long as necessary for legal, accounting and support purposes. We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited information we hold.
9. Children
The App and Site are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
10. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
